DVB-T2 ย่อมาจาก Digital Video Broadcasting – Second Generation Terrestrial เป็นมาตรฐานที่พัฒนามาจากมาตรฐาน DVB-T โดยนำเทคนิคการมอดูเลตและการเข้ารหัสแบบใหม่มาใช้เพื่อให้การใช้สเปกตรัมในการส่งสัญญาณประเภทเสียง วิดีโอ และข้อมูลมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น สำหรับหลักการทำงานนั้น DVB-T2 ใช้การมอดูเลชัน แบบ OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplex)เช่นเดียวกับมาตรฐาน DVB-T สาหรับการแก้ไขข้อมูลผิดพลาดนั้น DVB-T2 ใช้วิธีการเข้ารหัสแบบที่ใช้กับมาตรฐาน DVB-S2 ได้แก่การเข้ารหัสแบบ LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) ซึ่งใช้ร่วมกับการเข้ารหัสแบบ BCH (Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquengham) ทำให้สัญญาณที่ถูกเข้ารหัสทนทานต่อสัญญาณแทรกสอด (Interference) และสัญญาณรบกวนที่มีระดับสูงได้ดี

มาตรฐาน DVB-T
